Windows 11 was revealed in June, and one of the features was the ability to run Android Apps. The interesting thing is that you don’t really have to upgrade to Windows 11 to use Android apps on your computer. With the help of certain Android phones, you can use android apps on a Windows 10 computer. This tutorial will show you how to run android apps on your PC without a Windows 11 Upgrade.
Run Android Apps on Your PC
Microsoft rolled out a feature last year for the Your Phone companion app. This feature allowed users to use Android apps on Windows 10 PC. If you have any of these Samsung devices, you can take advantage of this feature as well. With this feature, you will be able to pin the apps you want to use to the taskbar of your Windows 10 PC.
Link Phone to PC
First, you need to link your phone to your PC using the Your Phone companion app.
Step-1: Go to the Start Menu on your desktop and type Your Phone. Click Open.
Step-2: Select Android and then select Continue.
Step-3: Check the I have the companion app ready box.
Step-4: Select Pair with QR code. (You can Pair Manually as well, but I find QR codes faster). A QR code will be generated.
Step-5: Now open your Samsung phone and look for the Your Phone companion app. (The app will already be present on your Samsung device)
Step-6: In the app on your phone, select Link your phone and PC.
Step-7: You will see the following window on your app. Select Continue.
Step-8: You will be asked, Allow Your Phone Companion to take pictures and record video? Select Allow.
Step-9: Use the QR code scanner generated to scan the code shown on the desktop app.
Step-10: As soon as you scan the code, the pairing process will start. Once it is done, you will be asked on your smartphone to review app permissions. Click Continue.
Step-11: You will be asked for various permissions. Click Allow if you agree.
[You will be asked to allow permissions for using the camera, contacts, etc. Choose accordingly]
Run Android Apps After Connection Is Complete
Once your phone and your computer have connected completely, you will be able to mirror the apps on your smartphone to your Windows 10 PC. To open the apps on the desktop, follow the steps below:

- On the Your Phone app on the desktop, select the Apps option on the left side of the window.
- You will now see the list of apps available on your smartphone. Select the app you want to use on your desktop.
- Once you do, the app will open up on your computer.
Here are some tips from Microsoft on how to interact with the phone apps on your PC:
You can use your PC’s mouse, trackpad, keyboard, pen, or touch-enabled to open, type, scroll and interact with apps. A few tips for using your mouse and keyboard:
- A single click will behave the same as any single touch/tap interaction
- Right-click anywhere on your phone screen to navigate to the previous page
- Click and hold will behave the same as a tap/hold interaction
- Click and hold and drag to select content
- Mouse scroll to move between pages vertically or horizontally
Some games and apps might not work with a mouse or keyboard. You'll need to use a touch-enabled PC to interact with them.
You can also pin these apps to the Windows 10 Taskbar. While your device is linked, do the following:

- Open Your Phone app on the desktop.
- Select Apps from the left side of the window.
- Right-click on the app you want to pin to the taskbar. You can also add it to your favorites.
