2 Ajax men arrested after Mississauga home invasion

Two men from Ajax were arrested and charged after a home invasion in Mississauga early on Tuesday.

Peel Regional Police says that based on its investigation, it was around 3 a.m. on Nov. 23 when the victims were present inside a residence in the area of Confederation Parkway and Rathburn Road. Several suspects entered the residence armed with firearms. They secured the victims’ hands with zip ties and duct tape, and one of the victims was assaulted. Each of the victims’ cellular phones and laptop computers was stolen, as were two of the victims’ vehicles. There were no physical injuries sustained as a result of the incident.

Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Central Robbery Bureau, with the assistance of 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau and Toronto Police Service, carried out an investigation. The suspects, along with the stolen vehicles, were located and arrested in the Toronto area with the assistance of the Toronto Police Emergency Task Force.

Mark-Anthony De Silva, 25, and Trevee Raympre, also 25, and both from Ajax, have been charged with robbery, use of an imitation firearm, wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, and possession of stolen property.

Both men were held for a bail hearing that took place later on Tuesday.
