Nearly 800 new COVID-19 cases in Ontario as 41 new cases reported in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon

Peel Public Health (PPH) said there were 41 new COVID-19 cases in Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon on Friday as province-wide case numbers surged above the 700 mark for the second day in a row.
On Nov. 19, PPH said there were a reported 22 new COVID-19 cases in Mississauga, another 18 in Brampton, and one new case in Caledon.
The province said there were a total of 793 new COVID-19 cases across Ontario on Friday and five new COVID-19 deaths, up from 712 new cases on Thursday.
PPH said an outbreak of COVID-19 was declared at Edenrose Public School in Mississauga on Tuesday.
There are currently outbreaks at five elementary or private schools in Mississauga, two in Brampton, and three in Caledon:
- Edenrose Public School – Mississauga
- EEC Rene-Lamoureux Elementary School – Mississauga
- Elite Montessori School (Private) – Mississauga
- Kaban Montessori School (Private) – Mississauga
- St. Teresa Avila – Mississauga
- Mountain Ash Public School – Brampton
- Tribune Public School – Brampton
- St. John Paul II Catholic Elementary School – Caledon
- Tony Pontes Public School – Caledon
- St. Nicholas Elementary School – Caledon
PPH said more COVID-19 immunizations could reduce the likelihood of additional pandemic restrictions across the Region of Peel this winter.
Parents could be able to book COVID−19 vaccine appointments for their kids between 5 and 11 years old as early as next week.
PPH says 89.3 per cent of eligible Peel residents have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 85.4 per cent are fully immunized.
