Babylon’s Fall: How to Unlock Power and Technical Attack Modes

Babylon's Fall

The Babylon's Fall battle system takes a while to get used to, and it definitely feels disappointing, considering how limited some of the combat options feel. In reality, combat does get better the more you proceed in the game and becomes much better once you unlock additional Attack Modes which fundamentally change how each Weapon Type plays.

Unfortunately, the Power and Technical Attack Modes are not available for a long time in Babylon's Fall, and those who abandon the game before ending the main campaign will never be able to experience them, as they are unlocked after clearing the Heart of the Blue Sun quest and completing the game.

Once this is done, you will have to speak with Desran in the tavern in the main hub, who will inform you that the two Attack Modes are now available and can be swapped in the Equipment Menu. The Shield, for obvious reasons, is the only weapon type that doesn't get access to Power and Technical Modes.

Of the two Attack Modes, Technical Mode is definitely the most interesting, and the one that spices up the experience the most. In Technical Mode, the combo potential of all weapon types is increased quite a bit, and timing Spectral Attacks with combo finishers will let them deal increased damage. Power Mode, on the other hand, reduces the combo potential of each weapon type in exchange for increased attack power, which makes it a good choice for boss battles and enemies that cannot be staggered.
