Black Friday 2023 could be its second-ever discount but if previous years are anything to go by, we may not see a substantial price reduction on consoles, with retailers taking money off games and bundles instead.
However, with the new PS5 'slim' redesigns scheduled to release over this holiday season, there's a possibility that older, larger 2020 PlayStation 5 models are discounted.

The biggest question to ask when buying any games console is how you'll primarily be using it and what kinds of games you want to play.
PlayStation 5s are powerful consoles that get most new releases, and have plenty of exclusive launches. They require a TV or external screen to play on though, and are among the most expensive of current generation consoles.

Does PlayStation do Cyber Monday deals?
Sony will often host its own Black Friday and Cyber Monday event – usually discounting digital games on its store. You can expect to pick up popular titles and indie games at a discount. Sony may also do deals on controllers and extras like PlayStation VR headsets.
Cyber Monday this year takes place on 27 November.
Will the PS5 Slim be available over Black Friday?
The PS5 Slim isn't a new standalone model. Sony is introducing a redesign to the PlayStation 5 – making them smaller and adding extra storage to both the regular and digital models. The disc drive can also be detached on these new PS5s – meaning if you pick up a 2023 digital PS5, you can buy the disc drive separately for £100 at a later date.
Both the disc-drive console and the digital will remain at their regular prices of £480 and £390, and we'll start to see this smaller model roll out in the U.S. in November. They'll be hitting the U.K. later, so we may not see them in time for Black Friday.
However, with the PlayStation Portal releasing on 15 November, we have seen predictions that these new models could be out by then – Sony has not confirmed this however, so we can't say with certainty.
