The 55-inch QE55QN85D continues in that tradition, with its Neo QLED screen, Neo Quantum HDR, Dolby Atmos audio and a special mode for next-gen gaming. Plus there's a twin-tuner PVR, so you can record two channels at once to a USB hard drive.

    Google Pixel 8 Pro

  • Google Tensor G3 processor
  • Versatile cameras
  • Seven years of support from launch
  • We like: We don't like:

Google's most advanced phone from 2023 is  a good deal right now.

It has a variety of camera lenses for high-resolution shots and it's the only phone in the Pixel 8 series to get Google Gemini Nano. This is Google's AI model for smartphones designed to help simplify and speed up day-to-day tasks. It has other fancy features, too, such as a sensor that lets you scan an object to measure its temperature. Google claims you can use this to check if your pan is hot enough to start cooking, for example.

Notably, it also offers seven years of security updates from launch. So even though it's a year old, you won't have to trade it in any time soon.

  • We like: We didn't like:

It's cheaper than the tablets in Samsung's flagship range and seeing great discounts, but it's still a premium tablet on the market.

Its processor isn't miles away from the one you'd find in a mid-range laptop. The screen's specifications should make content look sharp and move smoothly when you're browsing.

Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone AF400UK

    * Average price in the past six months:  Cheapest price in the past six months: Ninja Foodi Max Dual Zone AF400UKWe like:We don't like:

This air fryer has a total capacity of 9.5 litres, split between two 4.75-litre drawers. Ninja says that you can feed around eight people when this air fryer is completely full.

Each drawer can run its own program and timings, and there’s a useful sync function that ensures the food in both drawers is ready to serve up at the same time. It does this by starting the slower program first, so both timers hit zero simultaneously.

This air fryer has six functions: air fry, max crisp (for frozen food), roast, bake, dehydrate and reheat.

    Hisense RB327N4WBE

    * Average price in the past six months:  Cheapest price in the past six months: Hisense RB327N4WBE fridge freezer
  • Freestanding
  • Frost-free freezer
  • Black finish
  • We like:We don’t like:

Big discounts on fridge freezers are thin on the ground right now, so you might think you're making a terrible choice if you opt for something that looks like a bargain. But not so with this fridge freezer.

It’s a fairly basic model, which lacks fast-freeze or super-cool modes, and it doesn’t have the open-door alarms you might find on rival models.

You can fit 10 supermarket carrier bags of groceries inside. The doors are reversible, so you can adapt the way it opens to suit your kitchen floor plan. If sleek black isn't your thing, you can also buy it in white (RB327N4WWE) or stainless steel (RB327N4WCE) finishes for a similar price.

Under the non-removable cover, it has a generous 21cm pocket sprung core and multiple layers of comfortable foam, which give it a soft tension. The layers include a cool gel foam which produces a 'cold' insulation level – helpful if you tend to overheat in the night.

    April sale shopping tips

    Check the Which? website

As well as telling you which products are best and which are lacking, we’ve also put together a list of the best and worst shops.

We’ve quizzed thousands of Which? members on their experiences of shopping in some of the country’s best-known stores and websites, as well as with lesser-known brands.

    Watch out for sneaky tricks

Some retailers use underhand tactics to pressure you into making a purchase.

These include anchor pricing (when products are on sale more often than they aren’t), pressure selling (‘30 people are viewing this right now!’) and dubious claims about the ‘before’ price of a product.

    Research customer reviews

It’s always a good idea to read reviews before you buy a product, but not all reviews are trustworthy.

Some sellers incentivise people to post fake positive reviews to drown out genuine negative ones. If you’re in any doubt, check our expert guide on how to spot a fake review.

    Returning goods

The regulations give you a 14-day window to return a non-faulty product, which begins on the day you receive your goods. Many retailers will give you longer than this, but it's always best to check before you buy.
