The Dyson Supersonic and Shark SpeedStyle hair dryers are premium hair dryers that claim to dry with minimal heat damage.

We assembled a diverse panel of testers with a wide range of hair types, from 1 (straight) to 4C (tight afro curls), who put both hair dryers, plus many others, to the test.

They rated the hair dryers for styling, drying and ease of use, so we can tell you if they're worth paying more for.

Dyson Corrale vs Shark FlexFusion

Dyson Corrale and Shark FlexFusion

If you like a sleek and shiny style, you may want to consider a hair straightener from Dyson or Shark. We've outlined the differences between both brand's hair straighteners below.

The Dyson Corrale can be used as a cordless hair straightener for up to 30 minutes, according to Dyson. It has a digital display that shows the battery level and temperature setting, as well as universal voltage so you can use it abroad.

The Shark FlexFusion (SQUIRREL_TEXT_50017852) has multiple attachments including the Wet-or-Dry Fusion Straightener. This dries and straightens wet hair with lower temperatures to reduce heat damage. It can also be used in dry mode to straighten your hair.

We haven't tested the Shark FlexFusion yet, but it's on our radar for when we next come to test hair styling products.

Hair straighteners are tried out by our panel of 30 testers with a wide variety of hair types. They rate them for how smooth they make their hair and how effective they are at taming frizz. We also check if each model's temperature claims are accurate and examine straightened hair under a microscope to inspect for any heat damage.
